Build Your WordPress Website

I hear this a lot but rest assured it is simply not true if you make the effort. Every WordPress website has a theme which is a set of files that dictate how the website looks. Therefore you need to personalise the design and layout of the theme with your own branding to make it stand out.

WordPress is a CMS or content management system so by definition it should be easy. However the default tools to edit pages can be a labour of love which is why page builders were introduced. These are plugins or components that lets you structure and design pages with minimal effort and time. You drag and drop what you’d like to see displayed on your website and although much more feature rich, they work in a similar way as PowerPoint.

I've tried lots of different page builders but my personal preference is Beaver Builder or GenerateBlocks. However if you are a fan of Divi or an aficionado of Elementor, I can still help as I've worked with both of these industry giants before.

They use plugins which are pieces of software that add new features or extend functionality of your website. It allows you to change the way the website works without knowing a single line of code. However beware there are over 50,000 plugins available - most are available with basic features for free but many offer more functionality for a fee. Nowadays people are more likely to access your website on a mobile device rather than a laptop or PC. Making your website fully responsive i.e. the content adjusts smoothly to various screen sizes is something I see as an essential and not just a 'nice to have' feature.  Trust me - your customers will thank you!
